In Aylesbury this Saturday evening? Our brilliant Tom Ridout (Hampden '12) completes his tour to promote his recent debut album "No Excuses" at the Limelight Theatre in Aylesbury this Saturday July 14th at 8pm.

After leaving AGS Tom studied for 4 years at The Royal Academy of Music, gaining a first class honours degree. He won various awards while he was there and was also a finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician 2016. Tom is a prolific composer who fronts his own bands playing his original compositions, is a member of NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra) and an in-demand freelance musician and composer/arranger.

Tom has recently released his debut album “No Excuses”, which features a 13 piece band including traditional jazz instrumentation with a string quartet and brass trio. This unique ensemble of jazz quintet with extra electric guitar, string quartet and brass trio (flugel, french horn and trombone) performs compositions and arrangements by Tom Ridout. Expect an eclectic mix of styles, strong compositions,
unexpected arrangements of The Beatles Blackbird and Scarborough Fair, duelling guitars, contemporary string writing and jazz recorder.
The band has performed to sell out audiences around the country and tracks from the album have been played on many radio stations including Radio 3's 'Jazz Now' show accompanying an interview with Tom.

Stop Press: Tom has just won the Lancaster Jazz Festival 2018 Youth Jazz Commission!
