We are incredibly proud of AGS alumnus Joseph Rizzo Naudi (Paterson ’07), a blind writer and presenter who is leading the way in transforming how blind and sighted people experience visual art.

In his latest project, Joseph takes listeners on a captivating journey to rediscover a rare painting by Dutch master Frans Hals, brought to life through imaginative audio description. Collaborating with a diverse group of blind and sighted contributors, Joseph challenges traditional, objective art descriptions—inviting us to experience art not just through sight, but through language, emotion, and imagination.

Featuring voices from The National Gallery, Extant Theatre, and leading academics, this powerful piece redefines how we engage with visual culture.

You can hear the programme here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002kf96

Joseph’s work is a shining example of innovation, creativity, and accessibility—and we couldn’t be prouder to call him an Aylesburian.

Once an Aylesburian, always an Aylesburian.
