We were delighted to welcome back alumnus Greg Hall (Denson ’99), who returned to AGS to speak to our Sixth Form as part of the Inspirational Speakers Programme.

Greg delivered a powerful and deeply inspiring talk, reflecting on his journey since leaving AGS in 1999. He spoke candidly about his varied career path, which has taken him through the Army, advertising, insurance, and later into startup digital companies. Greg explained how each stage of his professional life helped to shape his character, resilience and outlook, highlighting the value of adaptability, perseverance and learning from every experience.

In a particularly moving part of his talk, Greg also shared the profound personal challenges he has faced, including being widowed in 2023 while raising two young children. His openness and honesty gave students a powerful insight into dealing with adversity, showing how strength, purpose and perspective can be found even in the most difficult circumstances.

The students were fully engaged throughout the session and asked many thoughtful questions, keen to gain further insight into Greg’s career decisions, life lessons and personal journey. His visit left a lasting impression and provided an inspiring reminder that success is not always a straight line, and that character is often forged through challenge.

We are extremely grateful to Greg for returning to AGS and for sharing his experiences so generously. His story was a truly impactful addition to our Inspirational Speakers Programme and a source of motivation for our Sixth Form students as they prepare for their own next steps.

If you have an experience you would like to share with our sixth form that you think you would of benefitted from knowing at that age, please contact us at development@ags.bucks.sch.uk
