Discover our AGSDigitalArchive: Supported and financed by The Aylesbury Grammar School Foundation
To continue the wonderful celebrations marking our 425th anniversary, we are delighted to share our new, AGSDigitalArchive. It’s an invaluable online catalogue that has been carefully crafted and curated to provide you with an innovative and accessible resource for you to enjoy at your leisure.
Our School has a fascinating history and this digital resource comprises several hundred items: documents, publications, photographs and prints relating the rich and varied history of our School, including materials by and about Aylesburians including every issue of the Aylesburian Magazine we have a copy of. It has been compiled from the School’s own physical archives together with contributions from the Buckinghamshire Archive and includes forgotten treasures of photographs, printed materials and curiosities from the last 425 years.
We know much of our archive material was destroyed in the fire of 1953, and as with many historical items, some have been lost over the years for a variety of reasons, but we hope that there is so much more out there. As a live resource, the archive will always remain a work in progress, so please get in touch if you are able to donate pictures, publications or articles from your time at the School to the AGSDigitalArchive.
The AGSDigitalArchive is completely searchable making it easy to find specific information about individuals and events, as well as preserving the history of the School for future generations. At the heart of this resource is the user experience - the bespoke format allows you to explore the School’s archives as well as search articles or publications via a name, date, category or key words.
Access to this extensive archive is just another benefit for members of our valued alumni society. Don’t miss your chance to register as an Old Aylesburian and unlock an array of resources exclusive to the OA community.
Please take a look. Search for friends, family, old teachers or even yourself!
