On the evening of Friday 8 February we held the much-anticipated House Music 2019. Our guest adjudicator was Chris Price (Phillips '91).
Chris is the Head of Music at Radio 1 and 1Xtra. His pedigree in the music industry stems from an early career with Sony and Warner Music, before moving to Radio 1 as a producer in 2000. Other roles have included Director of Music at MTV and Head of Music for Last.fm. Chris has been credited with developing the careers of artists such as Coldplay, Adele, Calvin Harris, Mumford & Sons and The Killers. In his current role with Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Chris has been influential in helping grime music become one of the UK’s biggest cultural exports.
Chris is a musician himself and a trustee of the National Foundation for Youth Music.
