AGS Golf Day 2024: A Celebration of Community and Competition at Chiltern Forest Golf Club

On Thursday, May 30, the first ever AGS Golf Day took place at Chiltern Forest Golf Club, attracting 64 golfers from our Aylesbury Grammar School community. The event brought together Old Aylesburians, current students, parents, former staff, current staff, and members of the local community, resulting in a memorable day, filled with camaraderie.

The day featured a Stableford competition played in a fourball format, with the best two scores per hole contributing to the team's total. Alongside this main event, several other competitions added to the excitement. Congratulations to the winners of the various prizes, listed below:

Individual Placings - Over 18's

1. Richard Read - 42 points

2. Terry Curtis - 40 points

3. Alan Marks - 40 points

Individual Placings - Under 18's

1. George Jackson - 43 points

2. Tom Lowe - 35 points

3. Will Heaton - 35 points

Team Totals

1. 94 points - Team 7: Vince Hemsley, Dave Switzer, Terry Curtis, and Alan Marks

2. 88 points - Team 3: John Clarke, Richard Read, Alistair Whithead, and James Whitehead

3. 84 points (tie) - Team 2: Iain Digby, Martin Harding, James Taylor, and Ross Proudfoot / Team 9: Peter Horlock, Paul Bown, Courtnay McAleavey, and David McAleavey

Special Awards

- Nearest the Pin: James Taylor

- Longest Drive: Vince Hemsley

- Gambling Hole: Andrew Heaton

The AGS Golf Day was a fantastic event that fostered a sense of community and participation in a wonderful setting. We are so grateful to all who attended and look forward to making this an annual event.
