“…. every man, woman and child in the country had no thought of quitting the struggle.” Sir Winston Churchill, 8 May 1945.
Today we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. The end of the Second World War where sacrifice and determination epitomised the global struggle against tyranny. A day to remember and to be thankful. Bells across the country rang out and planes victory-rolled overhead as men, women and children rejoiced. What memories do you have? What stories have you been told by family members?
In 2020 our struggle is different, our sacrifice is different, but our determination and support for our loved ones remains. Whilst we remember and thank those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, to thank those that served, we also do so for the key workers who are supporting our struggle today.
Please share your memories, photos and tributes.
