Refurbishment Projects Summer 2018
Refurbishment work resumed on the School site this summer as we continue to raise the much needed funds to keep the School fit for purpose for teaching and learning in 2018.

Over the summer, we have refurbished our two IT rooms in the computer block. Money raised by the PTA has funded all the replacement of the hardware and our sincere thanks to everyone involved in the PTA, as well as to all the parents, Old Aylesburians and friends of the School who have attended PTA events across the year. The refurbishment of the rooms was funded by our important Aylesburian Annual Fund. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this essential fund. It continues to have an impact and provides additional funds to keep our School site up to date and fit for purpose. More challenging for us than some other Schools as we have been on this site for over century and many of our facilities are deteriorating.
Less obvious, but equally as important, we have almost completed the process of upgrading our electricity supply to ensure greater resilience to the School. This is a major project funded from the result of a successful bid to the Condition Improvement Fund from the Government. Works have taken place over the summer to improve the spread of the electricity load across our two incoming supplies as well as upgrading the control boards.
Further works have involved the repair of the windows in the main block, resurfacing of the School tennis courts and new furniture for the dining hall. Again, the latter two porjects were funded by our PTA. The Window replacement project was another successful CIF bid.
Our thanks go to the premises team for all their effort over the summer break in redecorating many areas of the School to ensure that it is ready for the new academic year and it continues to provide an inspiring environment in which we can all learn and continue to improve.
Throughout this term, essential and urgent work will continue to replace the windows in geography, history, English, the Foundation Hall and Dining Hall. All of these windows are in a dire need of repair.
