As part of our Inspirational Speakers Programme, Year 12 had a talk on Apprenticeships. It was brilliant to hear first hand from recent leavers Dylan Nichols (Denson '22), Dan Tearle (Denson '23) and Ben Kearney (Paterson '23) who have all pursued apprenticeships after leaving AGS Sixth Form, we are so grateful to them for giving up their time to return and inspire Year 12.
Emma Lister, from the Bucks Skills Hub, introduced the session with details about what Apprenticeships are, how they work, how employment is balanced with studying and the many employers who offer Apprenticeship roles. This was then followed by feedback from Old Aylesburians Dylan, Dan and Ben who fed back on their experiences of both the application process and how they found their roles – they spoke openly and really brought Emma’s introduction to life. The session was really well received by the students and feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
Our programme of Inspirational Speakers is designed to focus on aspects of life outside of the classroom and encourage our Sixth Form to succeed in all that they do beyond AGS.
We are always delighted to hear from any OA's who would like to support our Inspirational Speakers Programme, please email development@ags.bucks.sch.uk for more information.
