Aylesbury Grammar School is celebrating an exceptional set of A-Level results this year, with students achieving remarkable outcomes that will support their aspirations as they move on to the next stages of their lives—whether that be university, apprenticeships, or entering the workplace. With an overall pass rate of 99.2%, this year’s cohort has truly excelled.
Among the key achievements:
- 21.9% of entries were awarded an A* grade, and 54.3% of all entries achieved an A* or A grade.
- 75.8% of entries were graded B or higher.
- 67 students (35% of the year group) achieved A* or A grades in all their subjects.
- 85 students achieved at least three A grades.
- 14 students earned at least four A* grades each, and another 12 students achieved three A* grades.
One standout achievement was from a student who, for the second consecutive year, achieved the highest grade in the country for OCR A-Level Business—an impressive feat that highlights the exceptional talent within the School.
Headmaster Mark Sturgeon praised the students for their outstanding performance:
"These are phenomenal results—the highest set of top grades the School has seen in non-pandemic adjusted cohorts over the last seven years. The achievements of this group of students are nothing short of remarkable, especially given the disruption to their education since Year 9. Against a national backdrop of tougher grading, these results are simply outstanding."
He emphasised that the most important outcome is that students are now well-positioned to take the next step in their education or careers, adding:
"We are immensely proud of all the students and the staff who supported them throughout their studies. We wish them the very best in their future endeavors. Once an Aylesburian, always an Aylesburian."
These A-Level results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the students and staff at AGS, and we look forward to seeing the future successes of this remarkable cohort.
