It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Margaret Deay, former Mathematics teacher at Aylesbury Grammar School, who died peacefully on 10 May 2026 at the age of 82.
Jennifer joined AGS around 1991 and dedicated many years to teaching Mathematics, becoming a valued and respected member of the school community until her retirement in August 2003. Throughout her time at the school, she held a number of pastoral leadership roles, including Head of Year and, at one stage, Head of Lower School. She was deeply committed to supporting students both academically and personally, and will be remembered by colleagues, former pupils, and friends for her dedication to education and the lasting impact she made on generations of students.
Beyond the classroom, Jennifer was passionate about providing students with wider educational experiences. She organised and led school trips to the Euro Space Centre in Belgium, as well as two memorable trips to Russia, opportunities that left a lasting impression on many pupils.
Her son, Malcolm (Hampden ’02), shared the news of her passing with us and, as AGS was such an important part of Jennifer’s life, would like to offer former pupils and staff who knew her the opportunity to attend the funeral service.
The funeral service will take place on Monday 1 June 2026 at 10:00am at Bierton Crematorium.
