George Moore (Ridley '05) will be our adjudicator at House Music later this month. This year the event is being held at the Waterside Theatre Aylesbury on Thursday 30 January at 7pm and promises to be another fantastic evening. Please do let me know if you would like a ticket and enjoy one of the highlights of the School Calendar. Tickets are priced at £10.
George studied Music, French and Spanish at A Level. From year 7 George was very involved in music at AGS, playing in various school ensembles throughout his time here. He was involved in Ridley's House Music entry every year (which they won on one or two occasions…) and he was also involved in other student-led ensembles performing at the first ever Cabaret night in 2003.
Following his time at AGS George pursued his passion for music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and did a BMus in Jazz Piano for four years. Since then he’s worked as a pianist, musical director, arranger and more recently as a songwriter and producer with a wide range of artists, including Florence and the Machine, Clean Bandit, Jorja Smith, Paloma Faith, Camila Cabello, Mura Masa, All Saints, Tom Misch, YEBBA, Kwabs and NAO, whose album "Saturn" which George worked on was recently nominated for a Grammy.
A couple of years ago George worked as piano tutor to the actor Rami Malek for his role as Freddie Mercury in the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody", for which he won the Oscar for Best Actor. He also taught Dustin Hoffman, several years ago now, for his role in the movie "Last Chance Harvey". From 2012-2014 he taught at ICMP in London on their undergraduate and diploma programmes.
In 2018 George was signed as a songwriter by Warner Chappell Publishing and continues to work with them on various projects, collaborating with artists at his studio in East London.
George is excited to return to AGS to adjudicate House Music at the Waterside Theatre on Thursday 30 January 2020.
