'It was really inspiring, made me think that no matter what life throws at you, you can always live your best life’ AGS Sixth Form student.

A brilliant example of an Inspirational Speaker, thank you to Mark Webb (Denson '87 and Former Head Boy) who returned to talk to our Sixth Form students as part of our Inspirational Speakers Programme. Honest, hard-hitting, Mark shared his world including thriving with a disability, maintaining a positive outlook on life, especially when coping with challenges, and moving forward from setbacks.

In Marks' words:

"I was incredibly grateful for the invitation back to speak again. And I am equally grateful for the amazing six years I spent there. In the 80’s! The messages behind my nonsensing were all about diversity, resilience, allyship and asking for help in times of crisis."

All hugely valuable messages for our students as we prepare them for life after AGS.

Prior to medical retirement, Mark held senior comms and social media roles at Disneyland Paris, the Walt Disney Co, David Lloyd Leisure, Dixons Retail and Shift.ms. Listed as one of the most influential disabled people in the UK for the last two years, Mark uses his speaking and social media platforms to campaign on all things diversity, flexible working and mental health.
He is also a Shadow Board Member for Reflect, the not-for-profit agency committed to championing individuality and influencers from all ‘flavours’ of diversity. A regular on TV through the Pandemic, click here for Mark's blog, One Man and His Catheters. Until recently, Mark played Wheelchair Rugby for Bournemouth Lions. Apparently really badly?!

A hugely important and thought-provoking session, thanks again to Mark.
